About This Special Offer

The Nallur Festival is one of the longest and most significant Hindu festivals in Sri Lanka. Stretching over 25 days in August and September, the festival transforms the city of Jaffna into a vibrant hub of devotion and cultural celebration. Devotees display incredible acts of faith, piercing their bodies with vel (spears) and hanging from hooks while completing Kavadi dances in honor of Lord Murugan. The festival culminates in the breathtaking Ther (Chariot) festival, where the deity is pulled on a colossal, intricately carved wooden chariot by thousands of chanting worshippers.
