About Pigeon Island National Park

Pigeon Island is one of the iconic marine sanctuaries in Sri Lanka. Located just off the coast of Nilaveli, it consists of two islands—Large Pigeon and Small Pigeon. Large Pigeon Island is fringed by a coral reef about 200 meters long and 100 meters wide, making it a world-class destination for snorkeling with sea turtles and reef sharks in shallow, crystal-clear water.
