Bar Reef is the largest coral reef in the country and is a sanctuary of global importance. It is located offshore from the Kalpitiya peninsula and remains one of the most pristine marine ecosystems on the island. Snorkelers and divers here can encounter massive pods of Spinner Dolphins, Sea Turtles, and even the rare and elusive Dugong.
