Galle Lighthouse
Sri Lanka’s oldest light station located on the fort ramparts.
Built by the Portuguese in 1588 and extensively fortified by the Dutch, Galle Fort is a living museum. Today, its narrow cobblestone streets are lined with boutique shops, art galleries, and restored colonial villas. The fort ramparts are the best place to witness a tropical sunset over the Indian Ocean.
