Sigiriya, also known as Lion Rock, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved examples of ancient urban planning. This 5th-century rock fortress was built by King Kashyapa and features incredible frescoes, mirror wall, and the famous lion stairway. The summit once held a palace complex with gardens, pools, and courtyards.
